Ibone Bilbao Toucet is a PhD student at the University of the Basque Country, within the PhD program in Economics and Quantitative Finance. She has a degree in Business Administration and Management, and later completed a Master's Degree in Economics: Empirical and Political Applications.

In her thesis she uses methods of causal inference applied to the fields of the labor market, social exclusion and well-being. Specifically, she investigates the difficulties that the young group suffers when deciding to form a home independently, as well as the effect that late emancipation has on the realization of new vital projects.
