With a degree in Economics from de University of Basque Country, she specialized in Mathematical Economics (UPV/ EHU, 1985). She began her professional experience in different institutions in Nicaragua (1985-1997), finishing her stay there working as an environmental economist in the Ministry of the Environment. She continued her training obtaining a Masters in Ecological Economics (CINPE, Costa Rica, 1997), a Doctorate in Environmental Management (UAB, Barcelona, 2012), as well as a postgraduate degree in Spatial Geoinformation Analysis (UPV/EHU, 2020).



Since 1999, she has worked as a lecturer at Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU), having taught classes in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Economics of Natural Resources and Statistics. In addition, she has collaborated with the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) and the Center for Environmental Research (CINEA-UNICEN) in Argentina.



She has published different articles related to the economy and the environment, and she has a six-year research period recognized by CNEAI. In recent years her research lines focus on the study of the relationship between the characteristics of urban development and the mobility pattern of cities, using spatial econometrics as an analytical methodology. She is a member of the EKOPOL research group.
