Graduate in Biology at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), PhD research in the Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratory (Department of Physiology, UPV/EHU). PhD in 2002 with Doctorate Award.
Postdoctoral position at the University of Utah from 2002 to 2007. In that year, returned to the Faculty of Pharmacy at the UPV/EHU. Teaching topics: Human physiology, Biochemistry and physiology of development and sports and Physiology of eating behavior (Bachelor´s Degrees in Pharmacy and in Human Nutrition and Dietetics); and Advanced methods in cell signaling (Master in Biomedical research). Permanent professor since 2011, vice-dean for Mobility programs (Faculty of Pharmacy, 2012-2017).
Co-PI of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab. Research lines: Cardiac electrical remodeling in metabolic disorders (mainly diabetes and hypothyroidism) and Molecular and cellular mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmia. Tutor of PhD students and coauthor of more than 40 scientific articles, most of them Q1.
