Associate Professor and Doctor of Biology (PhD, European Mention), University of Barcelona (2007). She currently teaches in the graduate program of Primary Education and she has also taught in the Environmental Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences graduate programs at the UPV/EHU and in the Biology graduate program at the University of Barcelona. She has more than 15 years of experience in research mainly on Ecology and more recently on Science Education as well. She has take part in 14 national and international research projects and she has obtained several fellowships under competitive calls including a Fullbright and an Ikerbasque visiting professor fellowship. She has conducted her research at the Universitat de Barcelona, University of California Davis, Rhodes University, CEFE-CNRS and Universiteit Leiden. She has coauthored more than 30 publications including 15 scientific papers in JCR journals and 6 book chapters. Since 2019 she coordinates the educational innovation project IHGEL (i320-41) entitled "The campus pond: an ecosystem and natural laboratory for education for sustainable development in Education graduate programs ", which involves 9 subjects, master’s thesis and final degree projects. Her research focuses in 2 research lines: (1) scientific practices as teaching strategies for mathematical and scientific competence and (2) pre-service teachers’ level of ecological literacy and competencies in sustainability.
