BA in Biological Sciences(1999) and PhD (2004) by the University of León. She was employed as Postdoctoral Scientist at the University of the Basque Country (2004-2007), the ISCIII-RETIC REM-TAP (2007-2008), and the Centre for Biomedical Research in Mental Health Network (CIBERSAM) (2008-2013). In 2013, she obtained a permanent position as Associated Researcher Professor at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. In addition, she is member of the G16 group of CIBERSAM, and of the BioBizkaia Health Research Institute. As a teacher, he participates in the degrees of Medicine, and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; and in different Doctorate and Master's programs from the UPV/EHU, as well as from the CIBERSAM. In addition, she has directed 1 International Doctoral Thesis, 3 Master's Thesis, and 5 Final Degree Project. Her work focuses on the study of the neurobiological bases of mental illnesses and their pharmacological treatment. She is co-author of 31 scientific articles (7 as first author), four book chapters, and 71 scientific communications to national (24) and international (47) scientific meetings. He has participated as IP of three and as member of the research team in 21 competitive scientific projects founded by public calls from national and local governments.
