University Lecturer and Researcher with trilingual profile (english, basque, spanish). Graduate in Biochemistry (1999) and PhD in Neuroscience (2004) by UPV/EHU, where he started his teaching activity in the Cell Biology and Histology Department in 2007. He was Vicedean of the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing (2017-2019), and member of the University Teaching Evaluation Comission (4 years). His teaching activity encompasses some of the departmental subjects of the first courses of the Medicine and Biomedical Engineering degrees of UPV/EHU, and also the Master and Doctorate programs of Biomedical Research of UPV/EHU.



As a product of his research activity, he has participated in multiple research projects at university, regional, national and international level, and he undertook the leading role (Principal Investigator) in some of them. He has published more than 40 scientific papers, with preferential autorship (first, last, or corresponding) in the majority of them, and has presented 3 international patents. As of March 2024, his H-index is 21 points, and he got a positive evaluation for three research periods (sexenios) by Spanish CNEAI. He is leader of the Signaling Lab research group of the Cell Biology and Histology Department of UPV/EHU, where he develops his research lines in Stem Cells and Cell Therapy.
