Mr. José Castro Calvín completed his BA in English and German Philology at the University of Deusto (Bilbao) in 1980, and his PhD at the University of Alicante in 1990. He is a Professor of the Basque Country University since 1992. Since 1998 he works at the Faculty of Economy and Business-Elcano Section, teaching Business English.



His research profile is focused on the area of Applied Linguistics and he has published five books for the teaching of English and one about the motivation of last year Secondary Education students in the learning of English. In addition, he has published three bilingual dictionaries (English-Spanish) on the areas of Insurance, International Trade and Taxes.



At present, he is working on two dictionaries, which are at their final stage, that will be entitled "Diccionario de Calidad-Quality Dictionary" and "Diccionario de Derecho Laboral-Labour Law Dictionary".



He has tutored 13 Degree Final Projects and has been a member of the examination panel of 31. In addition, he has been a member of the abovementioned Faculty Academic Issues Committee for many years.
