María Ángeles Solinís obtained her Ph.D. in Pharmacy from the University of Basque Country UPV/EHU. She is currently a Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy in the Department of Pharmacy and Food Sciences. She carries out teaching activities for the Pharmacy degree and the Master in Pharmacology, Development, Evaluation and Rational Use of Medicines. She also participates and is the person in charge of the Doctoral Program in “Research and Evaluation of Drugs. Application of Pharmaceutical Technologies to the Development of Advanced Therapies”

She belongs to the PharmaNanoGene Research Group dependent on the University of the Basque Country (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain).She has been directly involved in the development of the main scientific objectives of the PharmaNanoGene group, participating in 30 funded research projects in the field of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology and 30 contracts with pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies. She has a considerable experience in the development of non-viral vectors for gene therapy, leading different research projects and industrial contracts in this field, and being co-inventor of three international patents in this area.
