He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. Since 1990, he has been a professor and researcher at the same University at the Department of Applied Economics attached to the Faculty of Economics and Business in Donostia/San Sebastián.

Member of the Research group on Circular Economy, business performance and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals IT 1679-22, consolidated research group by the Basque Government.

Member of GEZKI-Institute of Cooperative Law and Social Economy of the UPV-EHU since 2016.

He has participated in several research projects, having also published several scientific articles and book chapters; his main topics of interest are sustainability, environmental management and standards and standardization processes.

Lecturer of Mathematics of the Degree in Business Administration and Management. He also teaches "Organization and Administration of Social Economy Entities" ans "Applied economics" in the University Master's Degree in Social and Solidary Economy.

Responsible for the Youth Entrepreneurship Program of the UPV / EHU (2019-2025).

Director of the Tecnalia Technology Aula on the Gipuzkoa Campus (2019-2024).

Promoter and Director of the Master's Degree in Leadership and Change Management for Sustainability ALDATUZ (since 2022) and of the Master's Degree in Collaborative and Anticipatory Governance (since 2024).
