I believe in the great value of sport and that its future and sustainability are based on the responsibility of the sporting ecosystem, especially in times of chaos. My professional career has been linked to sports management in the university, business and public spheres, and I have combined my work with university teaching in various undergraduate and master's degree courses and collaboration with magazines in the field of sports management; being responsible for managing events such as the international conferences ‘1991 Sport for All: Economic Aspects’ and ‘EASM 2001: Leadership and Human Resources in Sport Management’ and the world championships ‘1993 IAAF World Cross Country Championships’; and being an activist in the EASM, WASM and IHRSA (now HFA). My purpose is to help sports organisations rethink their governance, leadership and management in order to improve their performance in sport, society and the planet through responsibility, bridging practice and knowledge.
Former president and member of the European Association for Sport Management (EASM); co-founder of the World Association for Sport Management (WASM); and former member of the Basque Sports Council and the Centre for Sport Business Management (CSBM) at IESE.
Graduate in Physical Education, Diploma in Business Studies and Master's Degree in Business Management and Advanced Management.
