Ekin Tuşalp Atiyas is a historian of the early modern Ottoman Empire and works on the intersections of political, bureaucratic and intellectual history. She completed her Ph.D. in History and Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University. She has published various articles on the literary and bureaucratic communities of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. As a post-doctoral researcher, she worked in the Ottoman Political History project at the Institute of Mediterranean Studies in Rethymno, Greece and contributed to the book A History of Ottoman Political Thought up to the Early Nineteenth Century (Brill, 2019). She is currently working on her book project which is based on her doctoral dissertation on the Ottoman scribal community and culture in the late seventeenth century.
