Javier Esteban Ochoa de Eribe

Adjunct Professor of Modern History at the UPV/EHU since 2019

With a PhD in History from the University of the Basque Country (2017), my predoctoral research focused on the social study of Basque-language printed materials between the 18th and 19th centuries. As a postdoctoral researcher specializing in this area, I analyzed Basque collaborators with Napoleon. Currently, I am studying the concept of public health in the Spanish Monarchy during the 18th century, specifically the beginnings of smallpox inoculation in the Basque provinces.
