Agurtzane Etxegarai has a Master's degree in Advanced Engineering in Automation and Electronics from the University of Deusto since 2001. She began her professional career in the company Ingeteam S.A. as a software development engineer for electrical substation automation projects. Then, in 2008 she started to work full-time at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the School of Engineering of Bilbao (University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU), where she continues today as an Assistant Professor. Her main line of research is the analysis of electrical systems for the integration of renewable energies. In 2015 she obtained the PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Basque Country UPV / EHU, with international mention.
She is currently a member of the GISEL research group and has participated as a researcher in several research projects financed by both public calls and private companies. She is co-author of scientific publications in international conferences and indexed journals. She is a member of IEEE and CIGRE, where she currently participates in the working group JWG B5C4-61, which studies the impact of low-inertia networks on protection and control systems.
