Doctor in Political Science, Master's Degree in Community Participation and Development, and Graduate with honours in Political Science and Public Management from the University of the Basque Country (EHU).

He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Work at the EHU. From 2018 to 2022, he has also been a pre-doctoral researcher in the Department of Political Science and Administration at the same university.

His academic activities include teaching subjects related to social and political research techniques and methods, the sociology of education, and political sociology. He has also taught on the Master's Degree in Social Communication and the Master's Degree in Governance and Political Studies at the EHU.

His lines of research focus on the themes of populism, new political and social movements, political parties, party systems, democracies and gender equality. He is currently a researcher on the research project entitled ‘New versions of the rural-urban cleavage: territoriality and populism versus sustainability policies’, within the framework of the CIVERSITY Research Group at the University of the Basque Country (EHU).
