Competencies

  • To acquire strategies to stimulate the effort of the students and to promote their ability to learn by themselves and with others, as well as to develop thinking and decision-making skills to facilitate autonomy, confidence and personal initiative.
  • To design and conduct formal and non-formal activities which help to make the centre a place of participation and culture in the environment where it is located; to develop the student tutorial and guidance functions in a collaborative and coordinated manner; to participate in the evaluation, research and innovation of the teaching and learning processes.
  • To design and develop learning spaces with special attention to equity, emotional education and values, equal rights and opportunities for men and women, civic education and respect for human rights, facilitating life in society, decision-making and the building of a sustainable future.
  • To generate proactive attitudes towards human rights, respect for equality, gender, multiculturalism and multilingualism.
  • To inform and advise families with regard to the teaching and learning process and the personal, academic and professional guidance of their children.
  • To plan, develop and evaluate the teaching and learning process, strengthening educational processes which facilitate the acquisition of the competencies of the respective teachings, bearing in mind the prior level and education of the students, as well as their orientation, both individually and in collaboration with other teachers and professionals at the school.
  • To revitalise the teaching practice and promote professional development and learning throughout life.
  • To seek, obtain, process and communicate information (oral, printed, audiovisual, digital and multimedia), to transform it into knowledge and to apply it in the teaching and learning processes in the subjects of the specialization studied.
  • To specify the curriculum which will be implanted in a teaching centre, participating in its collective planning; to develop and apply both group and personalised didactic methodologies, adapted to the diversity of the students.
  • To understand and analyse the historical characteristics of the teaching profession, its current situation and prospects and its relationship with the social reality of each era.
  • To understand the curricular contents of the subjects related to the corresponding teaching specialisation, as well as the didactic knowledge concerning the respective teaching and learning processes. Knowledge of the respective professions will be included in the vocational training.
  • To understand the processes of interaction and communication in the classroom, to master the social skills and aptitudes necessary to promote learning and co-existence in the classroom and to address discipline problems and the resolution of conflicts.
  • To understand the regulations and institutional organization of the education system and the quality improvement models applied to the teaching centres.
  • To use oral and written English in the subjects which are taught in English.
  • To use the scientific language appropriate to the speciality area.
