GENERAL GENOMICS SERVICE - GENE EXPRESSION UNIT

Equipment

At the Genomics Laboratory that the Gene Expression Unit shares with the Genomics and Proteomics Sequencing and Genotyping Service, we have at our disposal high-performance equipment and state-of-the-art genomic technology for analysing global gene expression and for carrying out other analyses on a genomic scale, such as the study of chromosomal aberrations, transcriptional regulation, DNA methylation and micro RNAs. Below is a list of the most important equipment:

  1. Precellys 24 Homogenizer for processing the sample (RNA extraction from tissues, blood and cell cultures).
  2. Nucleic Acid bioanalyzer, spectrophotometer and fluorimeter for quality control and quantification of the samples (DNA and RNA).
  3. Real time PCR system with 96 well-plate fast block, 384 well-plate block and block for the TaqMan Low-Density Arrays.
  4. BioMark HD nanofluidic real time PCR System (Fluidigm Corporation)
  5. Microarray hybridization platform from Agilent Technologies: Hybridization oven and microarray rotor, and G2565CA Microarray Scanner.
