Dr. Alexander Gallarreta received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Bilbao, Spain, in 2019, 2021, and 2024, respectively. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic Technology at the same institution. Since 2018, he has been a member of the TSR Research Lab (UPV/EHU), where he also developed his Ph.D. thesis. During his Ph.D. studies, he completed a four-month research secondment at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in London, the United Kingdom’s national metrology institute. Dr. Gallarreta actively participates in international standardization committees focused on the low-voltage (LV) distribution grid, particularly in the study of phenomena occurring above 2/9 kHz. He serves as a regular member and expert in several working groups of the IEC and CIGRE standardization bodies, including IEC SC77A/WG8, IEC SC77A/WG9, and CIGRE SC C4 He also holds the position of Vice-President of the Spanish Next Generation Network of CIGRE. Dr. Gallarreta is the main author or co-author of 15 indexed journal papers, 24 international conference contributions, and has participated in 11 competitive research projects funded by public institutions (including 2 European, 2 national, and 7 regional projects). His current research focuses on signal processing techniques for the measurement, analysis, and characterization of conducted emissions in the LV distribution grid.
