Around 30 participants of the consortium participated in the 6th edition of MICRO conference held in Cádiz from 12th to 16th October 2026.

Taking advantage of their presence, PLASTIMPACT organized an in-person general meeting to talk about the progress of the working groups and clusters within the consortium and to discuss the next steps.

One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the creation of the PLASTIMPACT Early-Career Researcher (ECR) Network, an initiative designed to support, mentor and empower the next generation of researchers working on plastic pollution across the ENLIGHT alliance. The network aims to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange and professional development among early-career researchers within the consortium.
