Brief description: We need to change the focus on projecting cities. We are in a "historical period where the volume of human activities has had such an effect on the planet, which has altered the fundamental systems for the support of life", characterized by the radical transformation of terrestrial ecosystems by human activity, reaching to get to change the life cycle of the planet and taking it out of its natural variability.

The afore mentioned facts make cities the protagonist of the economic, political and social development of the future, taking into account that the planning of cities with bioclimatic and ecosystemic criteria, more efficient and respectful with the environment, is no longer a choice, but an urgency, because our future depends essentially on how we organize cities.

Faced with this ecological crisis and the global risk that it entails, as well as the seriousness of its effects on humanity and the planet, some necessary measures must be taken to minimize these devastating transformations. This is where "innovation with nature" plays a decisive role in the planning of territories and cities, which must facilitate a responsible and equitable use of natural resources.

Solutions based on nature represent a new and innovative concept that allows us to recover an ecosystemic look in the search for answers to the great challenges of society, such as food security, climate change, water safety, human health, the risk of disasters and social and economic development.

Therefore, a new paradigm to intervene in Salamanca- a World Heritage City- to establish the bases of a new city model could be achieved through a scheme of solutions based on Nature, starting with the green infrastructure tool, its ecosystem services and its cultural heritage.
