I am the holder of a Cum Laude International Ph D (2016) in Marine Environment and Resources (Quality mention) by the UPV/EHU.

Currently, I am Associate Professor in the Dept. of Graphic Design and Engineering Projects of the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao. I am a researcher in the Microfluidics & Biomics Cluster (consolidated group) and in the Plentzia Marine Station both from the UPV/EHU. Prior to joining Academia, I worked in the industry.

I hold a six-years term research activity recognition (Sexenio), a positive teaching quality recognition (Dozentiaz program) and I am member of the Ethics’ Committee of the UPV/EHU.

I am the author/coauthor of 2 book chapter, 22 peer-review scientific papers in JCR journals (1 Highly Cited Paper (WOS)), 23 peer-review conference proceedings and 53 communications to international conferences. I participated as a researcher in 22 research projects (1661K €) and 32 technology transfer projects (28K €). I supervised 1 PhD, 19 master theses and 24 grade projects, and I am currently supervising 3 PhDs. I regularly act as reviewer for 9 scientific JCR journals.

My fields of expertise include 3D modelling, CAD design, reverse engineering, computer-artificial vision, mathematical modelling and simulation, systems engineering, systems biology and intelligent aquaculture among others. My main research interests include Intelligent Aquaculture and application of 3D modelling+reverse engineering to clinic/forensics.
