PhD in Chemistry (U. Catholique de Lovain), is Professor of Chemical Engineering and Head of the Group Structured Catalytic Systems for Energy and Environment. His professional activity in these subjects is oriented both to the academic activity (teaching in the area of Chemical Engineering, supervision of 21 PhD, more than 140 journal papers, invited talks and communications in conferences, ... etc.) and to the realization of R+D projects with national (Técnicas Reunidas, Novargi, Mugape ...) and foreign companies (Petrobras).

His current research interest is focused on process intensification based on structured metallic catalytic systems (monoliths, foams and meshes) and microchannel reactors. The processes objective of these studies are the energy sector (synthesis of Fischer-Tropsch, reforming for the hydrogen production, Sabatier reaction for Power to Gas, synthesis of biodiesel, synthesis of DME) and the environmental protection (oxidation of VOCs, elimination of nitrates in water ...). The scientific activity is developed with multiple collaborations with other Spanish, European and American groups.
