With a background in classical and popular music performance (piano, saxophone and electronic music), I studied at the Institut für Musikwissenschaft at the University of Hamburg, where I obtained a Magister Artium in Musikwissenschaften (Systematic and Historical Musicology). Subsequently, I obtained a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Music at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

I am currently doing my PhD within the Contemporary Art Research PhD Programme at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. My research instrumentalizes Jorge Oteiza to study the transgression of artistic boundaries, as a way to better understand the interrelations between the arts and how artistic practice articulates transdisciplinarity.

Since 2002 I have been teaching Philosophy and Aesthetics of Music and Ethnomusicology at Musikene (Higher School of Music of the Basque Country), and since 2019 I have also been teaching Master's and Postgraduate courses.

I work on projects around the composition, performance and reception of music —particularly from the 20th century onwards— and I am particularly interested in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research from the perspective of music and the transfer of artistic knowledge.
