Short biography
Kätlin Jeedas is a second-year master’s student in Biology and Eco-innovation at the University of Tartu, Estonia. Since 2023, she has been working at the Estonian Marine Institute in the Marine Biology Department, where she is involved in offshore fieldwork, sample analysis, and species identification.
She has participated in projects including biodiversity monitoring and the collection of invertebrate heartbeat data on intertidal rocky shores in Northern Iberia. Her main research interests are marine biology and environmental sustainability. Her master’s thesis, supervised by Tiia Möller-Raid and Maria Põldma, focuses on the presence and spatial distribution of plastic waste in seabird nests, contributing to a better understanding of human impacts on marine ecosystems.
