She earned her BS in Biochemistry in 2005, MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2007 at the Science and Technology School from the University of the Basque Country and the PhD in Science (Biophysics) in 2008 in the University of the Basque Country. Lecturer at this University since 2012 and member of the Commission for Academic Organization and Validation of Studies of the Faculty of Science and Technology since 2016.



She is co-author of 24 scientific papers, nearly 40 contributions to national and international congresses, and has participated in more than 10 research projects. She has been a visiting researcher at the Universität für Bodenkultur Wien, University of Toronto, Heidelberg University Hospital and Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has co-directed a doctoral thesis with an international mention. Her lines of research focus on the study of the lipid component of enveloped viruses such as HIV and the analysis of the mechanism underlying membrane fusion mediated by the gp41 viral-protein during the HIV infection.
