I did my bachelor's and doctoral studies in Biochemistry at the UPV/ EHU. The subject of the Doctoral Thesis, carried out in the group led by Dr. Ana M. Zubiaga, was focused on the role of Retinoblastoma/E2F in maintaining pancreatic and hematopoietic homeostasis. My postdoctoral research activity (2006-2008) was held at the University of Southern California (USA), in the group led by Dr. Shelly C. Lu, in the field of Hepatic Metabolism of Methionine and hepatic cancer. After the postdoc I rejoined the Research Group of the UPV / EHU led by Ana Zubiaga, as Research Doctor, later as Assistant Professor, and since 2017 as Associate Professor. My research activity is carried out in the Consolidated Group on Molecular Biology in Cancer, making use of cellular and animal genetic models to elucidate the role of E2F in tumor suppression.

My teaching activity began in 2010 and I currently teach two subjects in the Degree of Biology: Genetics and Genetic Engineering and Molecular Genetic Analysis. I participate in the supervision of End-of-Degree Works and am a member of the BioGaIT Structured Teaching Team for the monitoring of the development of The Transversal Competencies and The Sustainable Development Goals.

As for postgraduate teaching, I participate in the supervision of the End of Master Works of Master students of the Master in Molecular Biology.
