Olaia Miranda Bersategi is professor of art education at the Faculty of Education, Philosophy and Anthropology of the University of the Basque Country (2017-2019) and previously at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the same university (2010-2017).

She is a member of the art-based research group AKMEKA (Artea Kultura Media), recognized as group A in the basque university system. From an artistic research and education based on the modes of knowledge, construction and diffusion of art, her main line of research focuses on contextual and relational artistic practices, close to the theoretical contributions of the new materialisms. Artistic practices that, beyond constituting radical externalities, are articulated in manifest dependence with their environment, that is to say, with everything that surrounds us and constitutes us.

The monograph Las formas de la identidad inclinada: espacios, imágenes y mediaciones coordinated by Oihana Garro and Olaia Miranda will be published in the journal Papeles del CEIC in September 2019.
