Silvia Arribas Galarraga (Soraluze, 1969). Degree in Physical Activity and Sports (UPV-EHU, 1993) and PhD in Philosophy and Educational Sciences, Psychology Section (UPV-EHU, 2004). She has two research six-year terms (CNEAI) and has made research stays in different state universities besides at the University of Northern Colorado (Greeley-Colorado, 2017).
She has been director of the Department of Didactics of the Musical, Plastic and Physical Education of the UPV-EHU in which she has been teaching since 1997.
She teaches Degree and Master and has directed 9 Doctoral Theses; currently she is directing several theses, master's degree projects and final degree projects. In her activity as a teacher she has achieved excellent evaluation in the Docentiaz program.
In her research activity, there are two lines on which she acts: 1) Diagnosis and assessment of physical-sporting activity; 2) Teaching and intervention related to physical-sports activities. She has participated in several teaching innovation projects and in research projects in competitive calls, in 3 of them as principal investigator. She also participated in the creation of the Pyrenean Network of Research in Physical Activity and Sport, and in the Euro-American Network of Physical Activity, Physical Education, Sports and Recreation.
