This formation and research unit is constituted by three research groups (Coastal Geology, Prehistory, and Human Evolution) and two independent researchers. All its members work using different methodologies on the Quaternary period, which is the geological time division corresponding to the last 2.6 million years in our planet's history and is characterized by frequent, rapid and intense climatic oscillations, and the physical and cultural evolution of our species.
