GENERAL X-RAY SERVICE OF THE UPV/EHU: MOLECULES AND MATERIAL UNIT

Equipment

  • Bruker D8 Advance: Operates with Theta-2Theta geometry. It has a primary Vårio monochromator (CuKa1) and a 1-D LynxEye detector with 3 degrees of opening and energy discrimination optimized for said radiation. Work with a sample holder with a spinner to improve the statistics of the measurements. (Registration number PK001905).
  • Bruker D8 Advance: diffractometer with Theta-Theta geometry. It is intended for non-environmental, high-temperature measurements (HTK2000 camera). It has a ultrafast Vantec detector with a 6º maximum opening. (Registration number PK002005).
  • Philips X'Pert, PRO. Cu-Ka configuration (λ = 1.5418 Å) with Theta-Theta geometry, secondary monochromator and PIXcel ultrafast detector (active length at 2θ 3,347º). It operates with a 45-position autoloader. It has fixed or variable mode divergence slits for constant volume or area lighting.
  • PANalytical Cubix3. Automatic high intensity diffractometer for rapid diagram collection. Theta-theta, Cu-Ka configuration and PIXcel ultrafast detector. It has a 60-position sample exchange table.
  • Bruker D8 Discover. Multifunction diffractometer with theta-theta configuration, available lengths of Cu and Cr Twist tuve, Ni and V filters, PolyCapTM parallel beam system (1m), collimators of 0.3, 0.5 and 1mm and 1-D LynxEye detector with 3 degrees of opening . It has a laser system for the correct positioning of the samples and an X-Y-Z automatic control platform. The diffractometer is equipped with an Euler cradle that allows the measurement of Stress and Texture.
  • Rigaku Smartlab. Multifunction diffractometer with optimized settings for XRR and SAXS. It has a Cu source (λ = 1.5418 Å), CBO optical path exchange for measurements with diverging or parallel beam and primary monochromator. Sample holders are available in reflection / transmission configurations for solid or capillary sample. 1-D DteX250 detector.
  • SuperNova Cu: Single crystal diffractometer with four-circle goniometer, Kappa geometry and microfocus Cu source, equipped with a large Atlas model two-dimensional CCD detector that offers an optimal combination of large active area size (Ø135 mm) and sensitivity of the detector. It is the ideal choice for collecting high-quality data as quickly as possible. Oxford Cryosystems Cryostream 700 Plus (80–500K) low temperature systems are available, and the intake can be programmed automatically at variable temperatures.
  • SuperNova Mo: Single crystal diffractometer with four-circle goniometer, Kappa geometry, and Mo microfocus source, equipped with a high-sensitivity Eos model two-dimensional CCD detector ideal for single wavelength molybdenum applications. Once again it has Cryosystems Cryostream 700 Plus (80–500K) low temperature systems and allows studies in a high temperature range, being able to program the intake automatically at variable temperatures.
  • Xcalibur 2: (In process of updating) Single crystal diffractometer with a four-circle goniometer and Kappa geometry, and Mo radiation, equipped with a two-dimensional CCD Shappire 2 detector and an Enhance optic that increases the intensity of X-rays. It has systems Low temperature OD Helijet (10–90K) and Oxford Cryosystems Cryostream 700 (80–400K) and high temperature RKD Hotjet (300-600K) allowing studies in a high temperature range.
