Ainhoa Bereziartua holds a degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in Barcelona (2015-2019). She attended the international master's degree One Health of two years duration at the Utrecht University (UU) in the Netherlands (2020-2022). During her master studies she participated in the One Health Epidemiology Chemical Agents group at the Population Health Sciences department of the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS). In the framework of the European ELAPSE (Effects of Low-Level Air Pollution: A Study in Europe) project, she analyzed the health impacts of green spaces and air pollution. Since the summer of 2022, Ainhoa is part of the Basque-Environmental Health Research Group (b-EHRG) of the UPV/EHU, as well as the Environmental Epidemiology and Child Development Group (EAyDI) of the Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute. Environmental epidemiology and urban health are the main lines of research in which Ainhoa works. She is currently hired at the UPV/EHU as a predoctoral researcher within the Basque Government grant. Specifically, she is developing her doctoral thesis in Public Health in the b-EHRG research group since October 2023. Ainhoa's work is mainly framed in the DAS-EP project (Environmental Determinants of Health: multicenter project based on Population Health Surveys; FIS 2023-2025), where she investigates the impact of air pollution in the urban environment on the quality of life and mental health of adults.
