Loreto Santa Marina Rodríguez holds a degree in Pharmacy and a Master's in Public Health and Environment. She has been a Public Health Officer since 1988 at the Department of Health of the Basque Government. Her professional work is linked to public health programs and the study of environmental exposures to various biological, chemical, and physical agents, including environmental exposure biomarkers and their effects on the health of the general population. Since 2006, her primary focus has been research on the impact of environmental factors on health, particularly child and adolescent health. She has participated as a researcher in over 20 competitive research projects and has authored more than 120 publications in high-impact international journals, along with over 200 presentations at national and international conferences. She is a member of the Environmental Epidemiology and Child Development Research Group at BIODONOSTIA. Since 2006, she has co-led the implementation of the INMA Project (Childhood and Environment) in Gipuzkoa. She is also a member of Group 28 in Public Health of CIBERESP (Biomedical Research Networking Center in Epidemiology and Public Health), part of the Carlos III Health Institute (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Spain). Her scientific output includes 121 publications in high-impact international journals (over 70 in Q1 journals, and more than 35 in the top decile), with an h-index of 30.
