Ziortza Barroeta Legarreta, a biologist and novel researcher, is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). It is also attached to the Environmental Epidemiology and Child Development Research Group of the Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute. Although his research career began in Ecology, in recent years he has focused on Environmental Epidemiology. He has experience in collecting field samples, processing time series data and managing epidemiological projects, the INMA project (Children and the Environment) and the "Epidemiology Service for the first four years of operation of the Gipuzkoa environmental complex." It has published 12 scientific articles in international journals, 80% of them in Q1 journals, and submitted 16 communications to international and national congresses. He's also the author of two outreach publications.
