Specialized Group of Educational Innovation in Teaching in Informatics Engineering using Active Methodologies based on Online Resources, Cross Valuations and Spiral project management (DIMAROVE)

Summary of the proposed innovation in the project

The aim of the project is to design and implement, in a set of subjects of the Degree and Master in Informatics Engineering, an integrated methodological proposal, starting from a set of teaching innovation proposals oriented to active learning that have been tested separately and implemented in different subjects during the first five-year period (2011-16) in which the Degree in Informatics Engineering has been offered.

The subjects involved belong to four different years (three of the Degree and one of the Master) and the elements to integrate are the following ones.

  • Dynamic generation of content by the students and integration in shared Knowledge Bases of the involved subjects
  • Systematic use of quality video content distributed on online platforms as support for the flipped classroom
  • Peer valuation as an element of development of the reflexive and (self) critical capacity
  • Systematic use of collaboration with students and professors from other universities in the development of the enumerated activities.

The objective is to overcome the vision of the subject as a confort zone where the activity of teaching innovation is developed, by implementing the proposal through various years. In this way the students can revisit the method and techniques while their academic maturity increases, achieving to focus more on the contribution of intellectual value and not on the formal fulfillment of what a certain method demands on a timely basis
