Bachelor and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of the Basque Country (EHU / UPV). After completing her Doctorate, she went on to make a Post Doctoral stay at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. During this period she studied different aspects of HIV. In 2012 after a post-doctoral period of more than five years she returned to the UPV as professor (agregado) in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Since then she teaches in the degrees of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biology and Biotechnology. She also carries out her research work at the Biofisika Institute (CSIC-UPV / EHU). Her works encompass both basic knowledge of the functioning of HIV and the development of anti-HIV therapies.
She is coordinator of the first course in the degree of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a member of the Faculty Board. She has directed a thesis with international mention and has directed eleven TFGs. Since 2012 she has participated in sixteen research projects and has published eight research articles
