I obtained my Bachelor (2000) and PhD (2005) degrees in Biochemistry at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). After that, I was awarded with a Torres Quevedo fellowship and joined Proteomika SL as a junior researcher, where I worked in personalized medicine, developing new proteomic tools for Cancer diagnosis. In 2009, I became a member of the Biophysics Unit with a JaeDoc contract and since 2012 I am a lecturer at UPV/EHU.

During my career I have completed several international stays in prestigious research centers. As tutor, I have supervised a PhD student (awarded with an international mention) and several bachelor’s degree and Master final projects. Additionally, I have participated in 25 research projects and I am the coauthor of 20 scientific peer reviewed articles, 2 book chapters and more than 50 communications to conferences. My scientific interest focuses on studying the biological processes that take place in cell membranes, and specifically in the lipid-protein interactions that govern them. I develop my research activity at the Biofisika Institute, where I am part of the Autophagy research group.

Currently, I am a lecturer and the head responsible for the coordination of the Bachelor’s Degree Final Project program of the Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, at the Faculty of Science and Technology, UPV/EHU.
