Jose Ramon Bilbao is Associate Professor of Genetics at the UPV/EHU and PI at Biocruces-Bizkaia Institute. He obtained his PhD in Biology in 2000. He has received training in Microbiology, Immunology and Genetics at the Microbiology Lab of the School of Nursing in the UPV-EHU (1989-1992 - Prof. I Abalia), The Dpt. of Genetics of the University of Leicester-UK (1991 - Prof. PH Williams), Cruces Hospital Research Unit (1992-2000 - Prof. L Castaño) and the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes in Denver, CO-USA (1995 - Prof GS Eisenbarth).
