Description
It is planned as a course with compulsory attendance, with a theoretical explanation of each of the modules, which will be accompanied by a series of practical exercises which the participants must perform throughout the sessions.
Results
The doctoral student will acquire the necessary tools to access, evaluate, use and disseminate information in an ethical manner.
Assessment systems
It is an on-site seminar, and therefore attendance is compulsory and will be monitored by means of signatures for each of the modules. At the end of the activity the tutor will be given a report allowing an assessment of the acquisition of the skills associated with this activity.

Description
These are intensive residential seminars lasting a week. They are conducted in English in an inter-disciplinary and multicultural environment. Forty researchers from each university, in their second year of doctoral training, receive extensive training designed for their future vocational integration in a socio-labour environment not exclusively linked to research at universities and/or public and semi-public centres. All the activities are dynamised by personnel specializing in the organization of doctorials and the facilitation of teamwork. The scheduled activities include visits to companies, research centres and cultural entities selected from both sides of the border, the testimonies of executive doctors and entrepreneurs and teamwork for the joint preparation of an innovative project which will be submitted at the end of the encounter. Participation in the doctorials is optional and does not entail any enrolment fee. All the maintenance, accommodation and transport costs will be financed by the organizing universities, with the help of the funding obtained from the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Aquitaine-Euskadi cooperation fund of the Basque government.
Results
The doctoral students acquire practical training in communication, innovation, teamwork, leadership and entrepreneurship. Based on the testimonies and experiences of different professionals working in companies and associations in the field of culture and language, as well as visits to companies and associations, the students come into direct contact with professional experience. These seminars have an inter-disciplinary approach, grouping the students together in units which combine different universities of origin and areas of knowledge. The experience should provide a wealth of knowledge about how to articulate a future professional project both in and outside the University.
Assessment systems
The whole procedure for the doctorials is overseen by a pedagogical cabinet, with professional advisers who will provide continuous feedback on the group activity and monitor the work done every day by the doctoral students. Once the latter have enrolled for the doctorials, attendance and active participation in the sessions is compulsory.

Description
15 seminar sessions lasting 1.5 hours are estimated throughout the years the stay on the program lasts (depending on whether the student is full-time or part-time). Regardless of the time devoted to the course each year, the student will have to make presentation of his or her work during the 2nd year (full-time students) or 3rd year (part-time students), which will mean a total of 7.5 hours for the preparation of the presentation and the preparation of the documentation with the proposals included in the exposure and dissemination of final documentation. In addition, it is necessary to take into account attendance at the seminars: 14 (15 - 1) x 1.5 h = 21 hours
Results
The following learning results are established for the presentations of the research groups: - Acquiring capacity for critical analysis in the face of the materials submitted by fellow researchers. - Acquiring the ability to communicate with other senior researchers by conducting questions or by requesting more information on specific aspects of the research work. - Acquiring the ability to communicate, in writing, the conclusions drawn on both the material submitted and the research tools.
Assessment systems
The seminar organizers will ensure control of the following aspects: - Attendance. - Drawing up of a concluding report by the doctoral student.

Description

The thesis directors and tutors will be responsible for ensuring control of the activity, based on the following reports and documents: I) Certificate of attendance at the conference. II) Report by the people who have taught the course with regard to the benefit gained from it.

Description
This kind of course usually includes talks given by renowned researchers and round tables during which there is an opportunity for attendees to exchange views and experiences. The courses are organised within the framework of the summer courses of the UPV/EHU which are held in the city of San Sebastian.
Results
The following learning results are established: I) Ability to communicate with researchers who are not from the area of the research work conducted by the student. II) Ability to conduct an analysis of similar research contexts from which useful lessons can be drawn.
Assessment systems
The thesis directors and tutors will be responsible for ensuring control of the activity, based on the following reports and documents: I) Certificate of attendance at the conference. II) A synthesis report with a critical assessment of the research experiences, in the opinion of the student.

Description
The activity consists of the following phases: I) Preparation of the experimentation and compilation of the research results which are to be sent II) Reflection on the coherence between the hypothesis formulated and the results achieved III) Selection of the appropriate means of dissemination for its publication (conference or journal) IV) Writing of the document V) Sending of the article for evaluation in the selected kind of media VI) Analysis of the answers given by the external evaluators VII) In the event of a conference or workshop presentation, the doctoral student will also have to prepare the oral paper and defend it in the place where the conference is organized 25 days are envisaged for the above; in the case of a conference, the attendance and presentation of the paper/poster are included in the 25 days.
Results
The full-time or part-time students must prepare, throughout their stay on the doctoral program, two papers for at least two prestigious conferences or workshops in their area and defend their report and publication in at least one prestigious journal in the area. The following learning results are established: I) Ability to perform a critical analysis for the evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas. II) Ability to communicate with the academic and scientific community about their fields of knowledge in the forms and languages habitually used in the international scientific community
Assessment systems
The thesis directors and tutors will be responsible for ensuring control of the activity, based on the following reports and documents: For the presentation of a paper at the conference: I) Certificate of attendance at the conference. II) Certificate issued by the speaker of the paper. III) A synthesis report with a critical appraisal of other interesting contributions, in the doctoral student's opinion. For presentations in journals the thesis directors will be responsible for ensuring control of the following deliverables: - Manuscript sent to the selected magazine. - Revision received and, if appropriate, corrections to the original manuscript.

Description
Stays at centres involved in the Master's Program in Language and Communication Technologies (LCT), encompassed within Erasmus Mundus, with which we have been associated since 2013, will receive particular promotion. This activity envisages the following actions: - Publication by the Academic Committee of the Program of the possibilities offered by groups of universities and external centres for conducting research stays for doctoral students. - Updates, on the web page of the Master's and Doctoral School of the UPV/EHU (Mde), of the information relating to aids for the conducting of stays and doctorates in co-tutorship with reference universities and centres. In any case, the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program will be responsible for approving each mobility action proposal. The proposal should include at least, as minimum information, the following points: - Doctoral student who will perform the stay. - Objectives of the action. - Destination university or centre. - Time planning. - Contact person responsible for the destination centre.
Results
The following learning results are established for the activity: - Acquiring the ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments. - Acquiring the ability to communicate in other languages within a research group. - Acquiring the social skills to work in collaboration with researchers with cultural backgrounds and researchers very different from the doctoral student. - Acquiring skills for establishing mid/long term useful research contacts. - Acquiring knowledge related to new techniques applicable to the doctoral work and the management methods and mechanisms of the research process.
Assessment systems
At the end of the external stays, the thesis directors will be responsible for securing control of the following deliverables: - Certificate for the stay of the doctoral student. - Report on the tasks performed and the results obtained. This report will be accompanied by brief summaries written by both the tutor and the host centre. - Publications or joint papers which have arisen from the stay. - For stays performed by the student lasting longer than 3 months in foreign universities and foreign centres, a proposal for the writing of an international thesis.
