Image

This doctoral programme focuses on studying the ecological, socioeconomic and health significance of microorganisms, with its main objective being to provide specialised training for researchers through the development of a scientific project that culminates in the defence of a doctoral thesis. The doctoral programme has 5 research teams:

  1. Candidiasis and other human infections associated with microbial biofilms
  2. Molecular and genomic microbiology
  3. Marine microbes
  4. Microbiology, parasitology and allergy immunology
  5. Bacterial resistance to stress

The teaching and research work is carried out in collaboration with universities and companies with proven experience in the research of all areas of microbiology. Among our collaborators are the universities of Barcelona, Córdoba, Porto, Rovira i Virgili and Sassari. The collaborating companies in this programme include Azti, Biogune, Clínica Universitaria de Navarra, Complejo Hospitalario de Navarra, CSIC, Instituto de Salud Carlos III, Neiker, Osakidetza and Tecnalia.
