Material resources
The classrooms and work spaces of the Faculty of Arts and the Koldo Mitxelena Library on the Álava Campus will be chiefly used. There also exists the possibility of using other premises on the campus, as indicated in the following sections, in reference to laboratories, workshops and experimental spaces.There is also an assembly hall and a conference room for events such as the defence of doctoral theses and the organization of seminars, workshops and conferences.
In principle there are no intensive needs in this field and those most likely to arise (for example in the field of the study of the relationship between literature and other arts) can be satisfactorily met by the laboratories existing on the campus.The Faculty of Arts has an audiovisual laboratory suitably equipped for the teaching and research activities related to literature and other arts (cinema, theatre, opera, etc.). In addition, on the Álava Campus there is a building adjoining the Faculty, a laboratory for the preparation of audiovisual resources, which may also be useful for certain doctoral students, although it is mainly used by the teaching and research staff for the preparation of didactic materials and other tasks for teaching and research support.
The Koldo Mitxelena Library on the Álava Campus, specializing in humanities and social sciences, contains a fine collection of books, printed scientific journals and computerised databases. It also has an efficient inter-library loan service operating inside and outside the network of libraries of the University of the Basque Country.
