The Master in Economics, Empirical Applications and Policies is a one-year master’s program at The University of the Basque Country in Bilbao (Spain). Our students learn how markets function and excel in analyzing the data these markets generate. We encourage highly motivated and quantitative-inclined students to apply for this program. We start from the foundations and build sound knowledge, therefore, you do not need a background in economics.

Our students learn the theoretical, empirical and computational methods that economists use to understand markets and analyze data. Powered with these skills, our students have access to highly qualified jobs. Hence, our Master acts as a link between academia and firms demanding highly skilled human capital, such as consulting firms, think tanks, and domestic or international public institutions requiring a solid research component.

Those who opt for a research career will have already acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to begin working independently on their Ph.D. dissertations. This Master is taught in English. We would like to attract bright and strongly motivated students wherever they come from.
