Artist, researcher and professor that works from the arts experimenting about relationships and social behaviour.
She is graduated in Fine Arts by the University of the Basque Country, Master DZ in Management of Design (2002), Master INCREARTE in creation and research in art (2012) and PhD with the international thesis “TRANSART. Collaborative art practices, relational technologies and social performativity” (2018).
In her artistic work, Saioa explores processes of cocreation, collaboration and participation. She has formed part of artistic collectives such as Abisal, Foyu, Pripublikarrak, Wiki-histories, EPLC… and she has been a member of the Laboratory of Collaborative Practices Wikitoki.
As a researcher, she has formed part of informal researching groups, such as, Tecnoblandas and LoRelacional. Currently she is member of Kontu. Laborategia research group of the UPV/EHU. She has published books such as “Biotracks” or “Eromechanics” and articles in academic journals as BRAC, Telóndefondo or Ausart, and plenty of written collaborations about art in divulgation press and specialized magazines.
As a professor, she teaches the subject “Register and Performative and Contextual Art Practices”, as well as other transdisciplinary subjects of laboratories and experimental projects. She is interested in group dynamics and takes advantage of the creativity of the group in the learning processes.
