Description and Contextualization of the SubjectToggle Navigation

EXPLAINING THE COURSE

The subject is in line with the GADE degree's objective of increasing knowledge of the national and international economic reality, the productive sectors, the public sector, economic institutions and their evolution. It is part of the thematic block Economic environment and legal framework (ANECA, 2005). The subject Economic Structure appears in the GADE syllabus in the second year, with a compulsory nature and without continuity in the development of its own content. These three characteristics condition the focus of the programme.

In summary, the subject aims to contextualise the set of teachings and competences accumulated by the students, providing the study of the processes of configuration of the world and Spanish economy (with specific mention of European integration), the analysis of the economic sectors of the Spanish economy and the study of the main institutions and markets (labour market, public sector, financial system). An additional subject on distributive issues and the fight against poverty is included.
