Acquired skills

These are the main competences for which this degree will qualify you:

• Base nursing interventions on the scientific evidence and the available media.
• Be able, in the field of nursing, to provide technical and professional health care adapted to the needs of health of the people who they attend, according to the status of development of the scientific knowledge of each moment and with the quality and safety levels established in legal and ethical standards.
• Design systems of care directed at individuals, family or groups, evaluating their impact and establishing the appropriate modifications.
• Establish effective communication with patients, family, and social groups and promote the health education.
• Know about the ethical and deontological code of Spanish Nursing, understanding the ethical implications of health in a world in transformation.
• Know and apply the fundamentals and theoretical and methodological principles of nursing.
• Know the strategies to adopt measures of comfort and care for symptoms, directed to the patient and family, in the implementation of palliative care that contribute to alleviating the situation of advanced sick and terminal patients.
• Perform nursing care based on comprehensive health care, involving multiprofessional cooperation, the integration of processes and the continuum of care.
• Plan and implement nursing care aimed at persons, family or groups, health outcomes-oriented, evaluating their impact, through guidelines of clinical practice, which describe the processes by which a health problem is diagnosed, treated or cared for.
• Promote and respect the right of participation, information, autonomy and informed consent in the decision-making of attended people, consistent with the way they live their process of health - disease.
• Promote healthy life styles, self-care, supporting the maintenance of preventive and therapeutic behavior.
• Protect the health and well-being of individuals, family or groups attended, ensuring their safety.
• Understand the interactive behavior of the person on the basis of gender, group or community, within its social and multicultural context.
• Understand without prejudice to persons, taking into account their physical, psychological, and social aspects as autonomous and independent individuals, ensuring respect for their opinions, beliefs and values, guaranteeing the right to privacy, through confidentiality and professional secrecy.
• Work with the team of professionals as the basic unit in which are structured in a way uni or multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary professionals and other healthcare organizations staff.
