I graduated in Chemistry from the UPV/EHU in 2008. In 2010, I obtained a Master's degree in New Materials and, in 2013, I received my PhD in Materials Science and Technology. During my pre-doctoral period, I specialized in the synthesis and characterization of magnetic nanoparticles and did two stays of several months at the University of Cadiz and at Philipps-Universität of Marburg. Later, I made a postdoctoral stay of almost 4 years in the United States (University at Buffalo). During this period, my research activity focused on the manufacture, biofunctionalization and application of nano- and micrometric devices in a revolutionary technique: Magnetothermal Neuromodulation. In 2019, I was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship, which consisted in the fabrication and biomedical application of multifunctional theragnostic agents. Since September 2021, I have been an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy at the UPV. Throughout my scientific career, I have participated in 9 competitive research projects, I am the author of 33 contributions to congresses, one book chapter, 20 publications in international journals (h-index=10) and I have made 12 oral presentations (6 as invited speaker). I also have directed 6 Final Degree projects, 2 Master's thesis and I am currently the supervisor of 3 PhD theses. Finally, it should be mentioned that I continuously participate in outreach activities with the aim of bringing science closer to the broad audience.
