Abbreviated CV
Chemical Engineer from the Bilbao School of Engineering (UPV/EHU, 2010) and Master’s in Chemical Process Engineering and Sustainable Development (UPV/EHU, 2011). Basque Government Fellow (2011–2014) for the completion of the PhD in the TQSA group (Chemical Technologies for Environmental Sustainability) of the Department of Chemical Engineering at UPV/EHU. He completed a predoctoral stay at École Centrale of the University of Lille (France). He earned his International PhD in Chemical Engineering (UPV/EHU, 2015) with Cum Laude distinction and the 2015/2016 Extraordinary Doctorate Award.
His research focused on catalytic technologies for nitrogen oxide (NOx) removal, including NOx Storage and Reduction (NSR) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). As a Marie Curie Fellow, he spent 30 months at the University of California, Berkeley, under the supervision of Prof. Iglesia, where he studied the WGSR and HCOOH decomposition. He is currently focused on research lines related to direct air capture and CO2 methanation. He is co-author of 33 JCR-indexed articles and has collaborated on 18 research projects. He is currently the Principal Investigator of a research line focused on CO2 electroreduction to high value-added products.
Currently an Associate Professor, his professional work has combined academic and industrial experience. He teaches subjects including Heat Transfer, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering Experimentation II, and Economic Analysis of Chemical Processes. After a year as a postdoctoral researcher, he worked for five months at Lointek S.A., contributing to the design and manufacture of heat exchangers for the chemical industry.
