Degree in Science, speciality Industrial Chemistry (UPV/EHU, 1999) and BSc (Honours) in Applied Chemistry (University of Strathclyde). PhD in Chemical Engineering (UPV/EHU, 2005).

I currently hold the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Faculty of Pharmacy (Araba Campus) of the UPV/EHU. I began my teaching career in 2003 as a Collaborating Lecturer at the School of Engineering of Gipuzkoa and in 2004 I moved to the Faculty of Science and Technology, where I remained until 2008, when I took up my current post. I teach on the Bachelor's Degree in Food Science and Technology and the Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences. In relation to my teaching work, I have received the mention of excellence in the Docentiaz programme dedicated to the evaluation of the teaching activity of the teaching staff. I have been a member of the Quality Commission of the Faculty of Pharmacy and of the University Teaching Evaluation Commission. In addition, since 2011 I have been Coordinator of the second year of the Degree in Food Science and Technology.

I am part of the research group Chemical Technologies for Environmental Sustainability (TQSA) and I have participated in more than thirty competitive research projects, and as many research contracts with companies. My research work focuses on catalysis for energy and the development of new strategies for waste valorisation. I am the author of fifty indexed articles, three non-indexed articles, six teaching publications and more than fifty conference papers. I also collaborate as a reviewer in several international indexed journals.
