Abbreviated CV

Bachelor (2006) and PhD (2011, worthy of the Extraordinary Doctorate Award) in Chemical Engineering at the University of the Basque Country. My research activity started when I joined the research group Catalytic Processes and Waste Valorization to carry out the Doctoral Thesis on different strategies to progress towards the scale-up of the biomass pyrolysis process. I continued my professional activity as a postdoctoral researcher, until in October 2014 I obtained a position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Since January 2019, I am holding an Associate Professor position in this department.

My research activity focuses on waste valorization (biomass, tires, plastics ...) by pyrolysis and gasification in order to obtain high value added products. We are currently working on the pyrolysis of various biomass materials and the use of catalysts to improve the properties of the products obtained, as well as the gasification and catalytic reforming of waste to produce hydrogen. I have participated in 25 research projects, being the principal investigator of two of them, in addition to 7 research contracts with different companies. This research work has led to 76 JCR publications, which have received 5031 citations (h = 45, WoS).
