Postdoctoral researcher at the University of the Basque Country (EHU), he is currently undertaking a stay at the University of Lisbon

He holds a PhD in Contemporary History from the University of the Basque Country, with a dissertation that explores a transnational history of the concept of regeneration, as well as a history of the intellectual movement known as Regenerationism. His primary field of study is the political and intellectual history of the "long 19th century" in Spain, and his research interests include conceptual history, cultural history, visual history, and the history of historiography, among other areas. The results of his predoctoral research will be published in 2026 as a book by Sílex, titled La eterna promesa. Regeneración y regeneracionismo en España (1808-1936) [The Eternal Promise: Regeneration and Regenerationism in Spain (1808-1936)]. For the postdoctoral period, he is working on a project entitled “The decline of Spain: a historiographical construction (1808-1936)” which, from the perspective of the history of historiography and incorporating precepts of conceptual, cultural and visual history, aims to jointly analyze all those narratives about the Spanish decline elaborated by both Spanish and international historiography (mainly French, British and Portuguese).
