Guided Tour around the old town of Vitoria-Gasteiz

Discover Vitoria-Gasteiz, European Green Capital in 2012, on a guided tour of its medieval complex –the best preserved in Europe–, and walk down its beautiful streets. In this tour full of history and art as well as anecdotes, you will get to know the most important places and monuments in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Among those we have Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, the Casa del Cordón, the New Cathedral or the Renaissance palaces of Villa Suso and Montehermoso. With this guided tour you will discover our culture and the living way of our city strolling through it.

Recommended places for pintxos, coffee, sweets, lunch or dinner (trust our Bilingual Mind group members', they are not only brilliant researchers, they also know how to enjoy the little pleasures of life)

Aldapa Taberna: Without any doubt, the best coffee in the city, confirmed by several of our Italian visitors.

PerretxiCo: Excellent elaborated pintxos. A bit pricey, but it is worth the visit. It also offers a breakfast menu.

Sagartoki: Their “pintxo de huevo” (thin potato pocket with delicious egg yolk inside) is quite the rage! You can order it with bacon or truffle (for a vegetarian option).

Berenjenal: Offering good pintxos and different kinds of tortillas; it's also open for lunch.

La Gandula-Gasteiz: New concept of establishment (coffee shop, restaurant & bookshop). Good price-quality ratio.

Velvet Bakery: Great coffee place with sweets and muffins! Also smoothies, cakes and cookies. Try the baked cheesecake!

Bar Txiki: Is it the best tortilla maker in town? You'll have to try and help us settle the controversy! Located inside the local market where you can buy food-related presents for your friends and relatives (jamón, chorizo, chistorra…).

Bar El Siete: Located in the heart of the city. Affordable and traditional daily menu. Pintxos, tapas and sandwiches. And great "bocadillos!" Try their "pollo completo". Great atmosphere on Thursday evenings :)

Black Salad: Our favorite vegan restaurant, only open for lunch and take-away, conveniently located nearby the university (and symposium location).

Ta-than beers and burgers: Amazing burgers for a convenient price. Their motto is "if you walk by and we're open, it means we're open!", that is, there's no fixed opening hours. Also conveniently located nearby the university and symposium location.

Fuxiang: Chinese food recommended by Chinese customers. Cheap and delicious, you'll find a large selection of traditional Chinese food - for real.

Dottor Pizza: Our Italian workmate doesn't miss Italy anymore. Also take-away!

O Moinho: Portuguese restaurant, a bit further away from the city center, whose octopus- and codfish-based dishes will blow you away.

Nalu Poké Vitoria: Good choice for a healthy meal. Choose your ingredients and create your own Hawaiian salad!

O'Connors Irish Pub: A great variety of beers with an amazing view to the new cathedral.

The Tap: Good choice for a tea or coffee.

Kitsch: Great place for amazing craft beers in the old part of town!

El Parral: Really recommended for good quality, homemade vegetarian cuisine.

Cómeme: Famous for their cheesy nachos and laid-back beautiful venue.
