Methodology

Attending to the nature of the Master, the teaching method used will be largely practical, but professors will also explain some concepts through purely theoretical learning activities when needed. All professors are experienced and reputed professionals in their expertise area.The teaching methods are:. Lectures . Theoretical exercises to be done either individually or in workteams. Practices in archives. Field works. Practices with the procedures and techniques studied specifically in subjects related to Conservation and Preservation of Contemporary Art. Practices will take place either in the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of the Basque Country or in some other cultural institutions world renowned such as the Artium museum (Vitoria), Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao), Museum of Fine Arts (Bilbao), and others.These methodologies will adapt to the profile of each subject. Likewise, the practices will be linked to certain subjects mentioned in the planning.As for the Master¿s Final Project, each tutor will follow the continuous development of the works under his/her supervision through individualized tutoring.

Assessment

Evaluation of students will be both individual and continuous in the different subjects and, depending on the subject, some of the following methods will be used:Written examination Presentations of written works Practical assignments to be done both inside and outside the classroom. Active participation in classes and seminars Each subject has specific aims in relation to the achievement of some skills, the acquisition of these skills must be reflected in the different assessment methods with their percentages. Regarding to the Master¿s Final Project the student will have to submit an original written work in connection to the research lines of CYXAC, that when finished, he/she will have to present in public orally behind a court.
